SMOKEJUMPER FULL LENGTH OUT NOW!

June 17th, 2010

Hey everyone!

As of June 15th, Smokejumper’s 1st full length is available! It’s fun poppy-punk rock, with songs about girls, drinking, escalators, and things of that nature! Pick up a copy, pop a beer with your friends, and have some fun while listening to this! Click the “Add to Cart” button to the left to buy, you can listen to a couple tracks from it on myspace!

Also, still available are the stellar 2009 releases by the Damage Done – who are playing a ton of great local shows around the area this summer – and Shakes who are working on recording a new full length that should be ready by the end of summer!

Go out, get some sun, and party with Better Half Records! It’ll make everything a bit better!!!

As a parting note, I’d like to leave you with this: Shawn from Smokejumper gets spanked (NSFW or anywhere really)

Smokejumper S/T up! and Itunes down!

April 21st, 2010

Hey everyone.

First things first:

The Smokejumper S/T album is on it’s way to the pressing plant. Look for it June 15th all over the place. It’ll probably be available before that, but that’s the release date. Check out a song from it here: Smokejumper – Friendly Frustration

Second Thing:

So, our Digital Distributor went out of business a couple weeks without letting us know. So none of our releases are available online for a bit until we get a new company to take care of this. For the time being, buy the actual discs straight from us!!!

I think that’s it for now

She’s a mind eraser…

January 15th, 2010

She’s a mind eraser, She’s a mind eraser.
She’s a mind eraser, She’s a mind eraser.
She’s a mind eraser, She’s a mind eraser.
She’s a mind eraser, She’s a mind eraser.

Pick up the Shakes album to get a taste of what I mean.

That’s all I got.

Happy New Year!

January 5th, 2010

Happy New Year everyone!  Everyone here at Better Half is well rested
and ready to get back to work.

First thing, you should go check out www.seattlepunkaudiozine.com.  Lukas, who does this podcast, is doing a great job of documenting what is currently going on in the Seattle punk scene. The podcast is good mix of some of the best tracks culled from the Seattle punk scene as well as some interviews of great, emerging Seattle bands. The first episode featured an interview with Better Half band the Damage Done, and the most recent episode features an interview with Shakes.

In the new year, keep an eye out for a distro of local bands as well as other cool stuff.  Contact us if you want included in this distro. We are also set up digital distribution and can take care of all that for you, if it’s something you need help with.  We also have some great releases planned in 2010, most of which we can’t currently talk openly about… Except for one:

The first full length from Seattle based veterans, Smokejumper.  (Hey! That’s us!) We are heading into Egg Studios in a couple weeks to put this thing together, it appears it will be 12 songs, and will document what has been the first 9 months or so of our band.  We’re really excited about it!

So yeah, that’s all we have for now.  Keep checking back for more updates!

Greetings!

December 3rd, 2009

Welcome to our website! We are just starting out as a DIY record label specializing primarily in the best punk rock the Pacific Northwest has to offer. We currently work with three active bands (the Damage Done, Shakes, Smokejumper) and to bring you our shining three releases:

  • the Damage Done – Scream All Of Our Clichés (BHR002)
  • Shakes – the Shakes EP 2009 (BHR003)
  • Dateless – Everything Could Turn Out Right This Time (BHR001)

(For those of you paying attention: we know that Dateless is no longer, but since it is technically put out by Chris under the Better Half imprint, we figured you wouldn’t mind if we had it available here)

We are also helping our friends in the NW Punk scene with digital distribution of their records. The first one is the self-titled/self-released album by Success! which came out last summer. You can buy all of these releases on iTunes, as well as through our site using PayPal by clicking on the album covers on the left.

There will (naturally) be an increasing amount of content and unique opportunities for you to get involved with the scene through this site, so be sure to check back often!

Cheers!

Some Logistics

As you can undoubtedly tell, we are a bit of a ramshackle organization. We do all of our own order fulfillment and we are pretty much self contained. We’ll let you know when your order has shipped, and we’ll honor any reasonable returns that you request – just send us a note and we’ll work with you to get things ironed out.
